General Body Cooling.

The body cools down by pumping blood to the skin surface in efforts to cool the body through sweating. This causes the heart to work harder, providing less blood and nutrients to the core organs and muscles and can result in injuries from cardiac stress and exertion.

Radiator-like Vascular Structure.

Two Stanford scientists discovered that mammals use complex vascular structures called AVAs (arteriovenous anastomoses) that are specialized to rapidly expel heat much like radiators. In humans, AVAs are only in hands, feet, and forehead.

AVACEN adds or removes heat through the AVAs

To accelerate cooling, the Grip applies a cold surface on the palm. As the heart beats, the cooled blood in the hand is circulated through the body. Likewise, to warm, the Grip applies a warm surface to the palm and lets the heart circulate warmed blood to the body.

Why not stick your hand in hot or cold water?

The body constricts the AVAs and pulls them away from the surface as a protective measure when external heat or cold are applied to the AVAs. This means hot or cold water actually restrict the body's natural temperature regulation. Similarly, heated blanket or ice packs applied to other parts of the body are net very effective due to differences in vascular structures and insulation by the skin and hair.

AVACEN patented technology

Warm or cold temperature applied to these open AVAs is then distributed by the heart to the core organs, muscles, and throughout the body.
